Tacoma Jewish Community Fund

What We Do

In 2024, the Tacoma Jewish Community Fund allocated grants to support the following organizations, agencies, and programs:

 

Anti-Defamation League, Pacific Northwest Region to fight hatred and bigotry

 

Associated Ministries (Pierce County) to support local social services, especially housing needs

 

Chabad at University of Washington to assist programming for college students on campus

 

Chabad of Pierce County to work in the local community with outreach and education

 

Emergency Food Network – to help feed Pierce County families in need

 

Hillel at University of Washington to assist programming for college students on campus

 

Holocaust Center for Humanity to educate and inform about the Holocaust, especially with on-site resources

 

Jewish Family Service to support refugee resettlement in Pierce County

 

Jewish Federation of North America to provide assistance to Jews world-wide

Keshet to support programs that assist the Jewish LBGTQ+ community

 

 

Kline Galland to provide social services and housing for the elderly

 

 

PJ Library Program to provide free Jewish books for South Sound children

 

Powell-Heller Holocaust Education Conference (Pacific Lutheran University) to support educational programs

 

Stand With Us Northwest to fight anti-Semitism, especially in schools and on college campuses

 

Temple Beth El to work in the local community with outreach, social services, and education

 

Washington State Jewish Historical Society to preserve Pierce County’s Jewish legacy

 

The Board reserved funds to support:

 

  • Youth of Pierce County with scholarships to attend Jewish camping activities

  • Youth of Pierce County with scholarships for travel and study in Israel

  • Pierce County residents who need social service, family, or housing assistance (administered by Jewish Family Service) 

 

In 2024 contributions provided special support for:

 

  • Israel Crisis Appeal to provide trauma care, medical aid, relocation and housing assistance, food, and clothing for those desperately in need.

In prior years, the Tacoma Jewish Community Fund has also provided special grant allocations for:

 

  • Ukrainian refugee resettlement assistance in the Pacific Northwest

  • Afghanistan refugee resettlement in the Pacific Northwest

  • The Islamic Center of Tacoma in aid of rebuilding

  • Assistance to the Pittsburgh Jewish Community following the attacks on synagogues

 

The Tacoma Jewish Community Fund remains committed to supporting the special needs of Jews throughout the world when the need arises.

Our donors help to build healthy, safe, caring, welcoming, educated and engaged Jewish communities.  Our donor support helps our local Jewish community remain deeply connected to Israel and the global Jewish people.
